English Dub Review: Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear “Bear, Studying Black Tea”

Overview:

Yuna goes to Bear Haven to ask Ms. Morin about the possibility of adding strawberry shortcakes to the menu. After having the cake with tea at Noir’s home, Yuna decides it may be a good idea to sell tea at Bear Haven as well.

Our Take:

Now we are in full-on restaurant simulation. This is pretty enjoyable in its own right because if you’ve spent any time playing a life-consuming RPG then you know that sometimes you can get caught up in the most mundane of sidequests. Getting ingredients for food that restores full health, or needing certain things to upgrade some equipment. Regardless of what you’re doing it all feeds back into the gameplay loop seamlessly.

This anime has done a better job than certain others do at showing how addictive video games can be. I mean that in the best way possible because it has made this show vastly more enjoyable. When I first heard about this anime this was definitely not what I expected after seeing all the ads for it. The most positive thing I can say about it is that it has been very enjoyable and makes the gamer in me smile more so than shows like Sword Art Online ever did.
