Axis Studios Set To Produce “Gods and Monsters”

Axis Studios is helping produce a new animated horror series called Gods and Monsters Chapter One: The Death of Victor Frankenstein inspired by the Gris Grimly graphic novel. The series comes from director Pete Candeland and writers Patrick Melton & Marcus Dunstan (Pacific Rim). Soluble Film Producions and Ranger 7 Films are producing.

According to AWN who had broken the story, the series is set against a visually fantastical European backdrop and inspired by Grimly’s punk rock re-imagining of famous monsters, Gods and Monsters Chapter One: The Death of Victor Frankenstein will present a fresh take on the manipulative relationship between Victor Frankenstein, his partner in crime Elizabeth, their famously monstrous creation, as well as other re-imagined monster horror icons.

Our Take

Horror is one of the fastest-growing adult animation genres in the industry right now and is usually a popular “get” for streamers and networks to have content featured for the Halloween season, but horror fans yearn for year-round content like this which is best featured by the success of AMC networks’ Shudder streaming service.
