English Dub Review: Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear “Bear, Watching Over Students”

Overview:

Yuna, very reluctantly, goes to the royal capital to escort a group of students through their hands-on training. She feels uneasy about spending multiple days with noble children her age that look down on her…

Our Take:

If I’m being honest, if someone hired an “adventurer” dressed head to toe in a bear suit I would probably have my doubts as well. I mean how good could they be any good if they come to work looking like a half-assed cosplayer? Luckily, we know that Yuna is well worth the investment, and these students couldn’t be in better hands.

What blew me away was the fact that she said they were her age. I know I didn’t watch the first season but Yuna just seems a bit older than she actually is I guess. I’m looking forward to the next episode where I think she will get a chance to show off her abilities and why she was chosen for this task.

I have next to no knowledge about this series coming in but with two episodes down I would say that it’s a fun and whimsical show. It doesn’t get too dark or serious and is just a fun time. The animation is bright and colorful which lends itself to the aforementioned “cuteness”. I’ll be intrigued to see how it handles some fights and things in the next episode.
