English Dub Review: To Your Eternity “Death of the Deathless”

Overview

March stops the Nokkers from attacking further. She and Bon search the city for Fushi and seem to discover that he is dead, raising concern about how he passed away even though he was immortal…

Our Take

Fushi’s fit in a rage of losing his vessels, but mother March has no capacity to stop it. And where Kahaku once had his Nokker left arm in control, it wasn’t, and it only took until now to wear it off of his arm. The fight of the Renril citizens’ lives are disrupted by Kahaku, and the sacrificed girl is chasing to find Fushi to treat him quickly, it seems like this is the end of their efforts with Fushi’s disappearance.

Even Bon called out to the Beholder, it felt as if all hope has been lost. Eko managed to find one of his last forms, and this is March and Bon’s only link, but to perfectly eradicate them, needs both Kahaku and Fushi, and unfortunately, these 2 are gone.

Overall, while there’s some solid effort shown in terms of budget and quality during the final sequence of events of Season 2, but using deaths as a tool for emotional damage just doesn’t hit as hard as it’s supposed to. It worked the first couple of times, but now that we know that they can be revived, it doesn’t feel all that sad. Fushi’s new fate now feels unsettling, yet with the two final episodes, I’m curious about what kind of ending this could be…
