Velma: Season Two All But Announced According To New Report
In a new profile for Deadline, featuring WBTV’s Channing Dungey, it was reported that a second season of adult animated comedy Velma is underway and was HBO MAX’s most-watched animated series debut ever. This corroborates with our recent reporting that low scores from Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB mean absolute shit when it comes to the popularity of a property, and even with low scores, getting people talking about your show is the thing that the Mindy Kaling-created series did best.
Velma is a young, aspiring artist living in Brooklyn and trying to make a name for herself in the competitive world of contemporary art. Along the way, she must also deal with the challenges of being a young, single woman in the city, including dating and friendship.
The show features an all-star voice cast, including Kaling as Velma, along with other notable names such as John Early, Gary Cole, and Nicole Byer.
