English Dub Review: The Daily Life of the Immortal King “The Coming”

Overview:

Wang Ling and Sun Rong are trapped up on a space station. Meanwhile, the world is being taken over by demons. Will Wang Ling finally reveal himself to the world?

Our Take:

I’ve learned that I can never be surprised by what happens in this show. But somehow I keep getting surprised especially when two of the main characters suddenly get rendered into PS1 and PS2-era graphics. How can someone use magic to change how we see the world? I’m not sure but I’m glad they did because it made me start paying attention to the episode.

When it comes to the episode something very interesting happened. Wang Ling was defeated! Well… maybe we aren’t really sure yet. Just when he decided to come down to Earth and start kicking ass, some butterfly girl showed up and teleported him somewhere. I’ve always liked watching this show but this might be the first time I am actively anticipating what happens next. Season one had a pretty awesome ramp-up to the ending and it seems like season two will be no different.

I can’t imagine how powerful someone has to be to teleport Wang Ling but to be fair maybe they are an ally? I can’t recall seeing this character before so maybe they aren’t an enemy.
