English Dub Review: Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun “My Very Own Magic”

Overview

The third day of the Harvest Festival. The announcement of how many points each has is announced through the jungle. Kalego mentions that a certain student still has zero points and tells them to shape up. After hearing this, Asmodeus and Clara immediately think of Iruma. Meanwhile, down in the underground labyrinth, Iruma figures out a way to get out…

Our Take

This time around, Iruma is finally realizing how useful it is to be a human in a demon world and is back on the stage! Meanwhile, poor Lead is struggling to survive while both their valuable hard-earned items are publicly announced!

Why is this a big deal? This 2nd item is intended to help the Legend Leaf grow and it’s known as the “Vase of Endings”. And this is from a split path he went with a completely different Genie compared to Iruma. While Lead was challenged by his Genie with various games, Iruma challenged the Genie he encountered with stories and information he never heard before. But now that both halves are found, it’s a race against time since they both need the points to stay in school.

Overall, we’re finally seeing some exciting things happen. During the first half of this season it felt a bit sluggish due to the pacing but seeing how the pacing and humor, and animation are back to the level of seasons 1&2. Iruma and Lead have obtained both parts for the Legend Leaf, but the teachers won’t let them get off easily, announcing it to the masses, and are essentially the main targets now. In theory, it’s going to go one of two ways: either their class is going to help the team hit the finish line as comrades or they’re going to try steal the points and all kinds of chaos ensues between seeing as many other classes out there and I can’t wait to see how it ends!
