Iconic Celebrity Deathmatch Referee Mills Lane Dies At Age 85

Arguably one of the most recognizable voices in MTV Animation’s stable of legends, Mills Lane, has passed away at the age of 85. We here know him best as the voice of referee Mills Lane from Celebrity Deathmatch who would start matches in his trademark “Let’s Get It On” phrase that would follow the man through an incredible court TV career.

Mills Lane would eventually relinquish his voice for the “Mills Lane” character featured as part of Celebrity Deathmatch in favor of Chris Edgerly in the 2006 revival after Mills suffered a stroke in 2002 leaving him virtually unable to speak. After the show was canceled the second time, a re-imagining with Ice Cube as star and producer was talked about, but as of this writing, MTV has not made any mention of the future of Celebrity Deathmatch.

Mills Lane is survived by his wife and two sons.
