English Dub Review: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War “Kill the Shadow”

Overview:

The Wandenreich mobilizes its elite force, the Stern Ritter, to eradicate the Soul Society. Creating massive flaming pillars of Reishi as a distraction, the Stern Ritter quickly enters the Soul Society to bring carnage to the Soul Reapers.

Our Take:

It is not looking good for the Soul Society at the moment, is it? Everyone thought the Quincy was just sealing Bankai’s but it turns out that they are stealing them. Or “plundering” them if you want to be accurate. The main point is that is bad news because a soul reaper’s Bankai is their ultimate weapon and they will need it if they have any chance of defeating this enemy. For some reason, they are unable to steal Ichigo’s Bankai though so as per usual I think he will be instrumental in turning things around.

Bleach has become one of my favorite anime, I’m still continuing to watch it and I’ve almost finished. I know I said you shouldn’t do that but I was really close to the end plus it’s my job so you got to do what you got to do right? There really is something unique about this series that just makes it a lot of fun to watch.

Every episode we get to see old faces show up in this new series and it’s fantastic. One of my personal favorites is Soi Fon, and it was so great to see her again. From what I can tell most characters are getting their original VAs back. If that changes I will keep you updated because I’m sure there will unfortunately be a few that don’t reprise their roles. Another week and another amazing Bleach episode.
