English Dub Review: I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss “The Villainess Is Greedy and Goes for the Win”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Aileen finds that Cedric’s new fiancé, Lilia Rainworth, has received threatening letters that were signed by herself. Since she has no memory of doing so, she has her friends help her find out the truth. On the night of the ball, Aileen attends wearing the dress and accessories given to her by Claude. At the same time, Lilia appears at the demon lord’s castle.

Our Take:
The hits keep on coming for the villainess. In addition to being in financial debt, Aileen is now accused of sending death threats to Lilia. The thing we know about the event is that it’s part of the game’s storyline. However, Aileen doesn’t remember performing this action, even though she played the game before in her previous life.
The episode’s plot consists of Aileen proving her innocence by having Almond the crow retrieve one of the letters from the trash. While this is happening, Claude is visited by Lilia, who’s gone missing after receiving the letters. However, it turns out that Lilia wrote the letters to herself, with the proof being the roses on the papers aligning differently. Lilia also states that she wants to be with Claude, but he only favors Aileen, so he transports her somewhere in the forest before rescuing Aileen from Cedric’s wrath at the ball.
This episode definitely went for the win, providing Aileen’s satisfying end to her disengagement with Cedric. Although, Cedric isn’t known for giving up without a fight, as he seeks to reclaim her out of jealousy toward his demon half-brother Claude. Additionally, Aileen discovers that Claude will transform into a demon after being betrayed by his human friend. Her quest to move on from her former lover may be over, but her journey to tame the final boss continues.
