English Dub Review: The Daily Life of the Immortal King “Set Off, Old Driver!” ;“Ocean Dance”

Overview:

Wang Ling stoops as low as getting kidnapped as a way to try and avoid participating in the tournament.

Wang Ling’s amulet sealing his force is about to break just as the tournament is beginning. Will this help or hinder his teammates?

Our Take:

I had a feeling we would get two episodes today, the last time we didn’t get one we got a triple dose. I don’t know why they sometimes wait a week it seems like they are getting them dubbed at a good clip but that’s okay. I was just glad we could get back to this show because Wang Ling is one of the funnier protagonists I have seen in a long time. Sure we’ve had OP characters before but this guy really will do ANYTHING to not have to participate in things. Going so far as getting kidnapped in the first of the episodes we got.

Unfortunately, for him, that wasn’t enough and he was eventually saved. At least I think he was saved it was kind of hard to tell. Time did a rewind and then different things happened but it didn’t seem Wang was the one that did it. So maybe there is someone else out there just as powerful as him?

We eventually got to the tournament and things are not looking good for Wang’s team. What was looking good was the animation. Especially during the fight with Sun Rong and the other team’s leader. The use of ice and water looked amazing. It looked like Wang might have “awakened” at the end there so I really do look forward to seeing how the rest of this tournament goes.
