Review: The Casagrandes “Kick Some Bot/Salvador Doggy”

Overview (Spoilers Below):

Kick Some Bot

Sid and Breakfast Bot compete in a robot competition.

Salvador Doggy

Frida uses Lalo as a source of inspiration when she gets a bad case of painter’s block.

Our Take:

The first episode focuses solely on Sid attempting to win a trophy of her own to get her mother’s attention. Her best bet is entering Breakfast Bot in a robotics competition. Unfortunately, Sid and her robotic pal face tough competition from Lisa Loud and Todd.

Most of the humor consists of Sid using CDs to make Breakfast Bot do other things other than cook breakfast, such as cleaning and shooting hoops. However, the overabundance of CDs in the bot’s hard drive causes him to malfunction during the talent show and switch over to Lucha mode. Sid eventually handles the situation, and despite not winning the contest, Sid’s mom gives her the attention she needs.

The second episode’s humor features Frida using Lalo to make the paintings for her, but with a catch. She’ll have to follow the demands of both Lalo and Sergio, who’s also Lalo’s manager, to finish the paintings for the presentation. Unfortunately, their bossiness forced Frida to find a new dog painter. Unfortunately, this led to some disastrous results, including her mistaking another dog, Malo, for Lalo.

Overall, both episodes may not be works of art, but they provide another fun series of adventures for the Casagrande family to endure. “Kick Some Bot” is a suitable Sid-focused episode that features another guest star from The Loud House getting into some friendly competition. “Salvador Doggy” is a decent episode that sees Frida having a doggone day while attempting to get rid of her painter’s block.
