“The Bob’s Burgers Movie” Places Third In Debut Theatrical Release

The critically-acclaimed The Bob’s Burgers Movie opened to theaters nationwide this Memorial Day weekend placing in third with nearly $15 million in opening box office grosses. While impressive, compared to other animated films inspired by primetime animated franchises like The Simpsons ($74m), and Beavis and Butt-Head: Do America ($20m), the total lags behind and that’s with the latter movie having still opened at #1 in America. The future-cast appears to be more on par with South Park: Bigger, Longer, And Uncut which opened to identical opening numbers on a similarly busy weekend, but, South Park was also a Rated “R” film that ultimately grossed just north of $80m and gained further fame with an Academy Award-nominated song in “Blame Canada”.

The Bob’s Burgers Movie has some songs, but can any of them gain the fervor of “Blame Canada”? Time will tell, in the meantime, read our review of the film here.
