“The Stinkhole Chronicles”

Our Take

For the first episode, much of the humor comes from the anatomy of Angus’s pet Walrus Russel as the inside of it looks like an Industrial Amazon Warehouse-like setting. But a sense of urgency begins to build up as the plot progresses when you see what happens when a human is inside a Walrus’s stomach for too long…

As for the other one, it’s surprisingly structured like a classic dungeon-crawling videogame with multiple references to other classic games of that era. From Zelda & Final Fantasy, to even your traditional 2D platformer adventure games like the Mario and Sonic Franchises. And as icing on the cake, the scenery and aesthetic are borderline pixelated and the music utilizes an 8-Bit chiptune style, right down to the opening with Lily blowing into what looks like an NES Cartridge.

Overall, both episodes were fun and weird as they commonly delved into a sense of exploration. The first was inside a Walrus within this show’s fictional universe while the other was a fun nostalgic throwback to classic 80’s gaming at its finest. I don’t know what they’ll do next episode but I at least had fun with what it accomplished.
