Review: Middlemost Post “HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW/DENTIST TRIP”

Overview

“HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW”

Parker finds a body hair, and the cloud assumes it’s time to become an adult!

“DENTIST TRIP”

During a trip to the dentist, Parker remembers how the S.S. Steadfast got shipwrecked on Mt. Middlemost.

Our Take

For the first episode, much of the humor is focused on the delusional mentality Parker develops when some random hairs appear on his body that he perceives as a sign of adulthood leading him to make some impulsive decisions that he hopes make him an equal to Angus as a person. But near the end, he comes to a weird revelation thanks to Angus’s help…

As for the other one, a lot of the humor comes from the multiple reactions to going to the dentist with Lily’s being easily the funniest due to her paranoia which comes from a book that puts them in a negative light, but the heart of the story is Parker while in a drug-induced state realizing that he may have played a role in the chain of the events that lead up to him meeting Angus & Russel.

Overall, both episodes were passable if not predictable. Angus got the point across how much he loves Parker despite his antics in both storylines. But I also feel like that Lily Subplot in the 2nd episode regarding her hatred for the Dentist didn’t really lead anywhere but deserves its own episode at some point…
