Laika Studios Announces Adult Animation Film Slate For 2022
Laika Studios is increasing it’s adult animation film output, hopefully developing some serious threats to Disney’s dominance in the Academy Awards in Best Feature Film the last several years. Two features look promising, both stop-motion animated films with Travis Knight as President of the studio.
First up, Knight is teaming up with Caleb Deschanel in taking on Wildwood, set in Portland, Oregon, inspired by the Colin Meloy fantasy novels of the same name. Netflix, Prime Video, and AppleTV+ are potential suitors. The other, The Night Gardener, a gritty neo-noir folktale about a young man from Missouri fighting to keep his family together. Here are first-looks at both:

Her baby brother Mac has been taken by a murder of crows into the forest’s depths, and she — along with her hapless classmate Curtis — is going to get him back. Prue might think she’s too old for fairy tales, but she’s just found herself at the center of one…filled with strange talking animals, roguish bandits, and powerful figures with the darkest intentions.”

Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
