English Dub Review: Attack on Titan “Night of the End”

Overview:

Deep in the forest, an unlikely rabble of Marley stragglers and island fugitives attempt to set their hatred aside and talk around a campfire without killing each other.

Our Take:

Do you know how in anime a lot of times people who used to be enemies just put aside their differences and help each other? Oftentimes becomes friends in the process. I don’t think that’s going to happen here. Could all these people who wanted to kill each other moments ago become friends? Sure, anything is possible but it’s not going to happen overnight. What we have here is a group of people who absolutely hate each other working together because there is literally no other way. If you would have told me years ago we would be seeing this group work together I would not have believed you but a lot has happened.

What I’m getting at is that once again Attack on Titan shows how human we are, better than a lot of other media out there. I don’t think this group is going to start being friendly anytime soon because no one is going to forgive and forget years of grudges and trauma with a snap of their fingers. That doesn’t mean things are hopeless and a bridge can’t be built. I don’t know how all this will end but people from different walks of life coming together can’t be all bad. Jean is really becoming everything Marco believed he could be and I find something really beautiful about that.
