Review: It’s Pony “Song of the Soil; Street Smart”

Overview

“Song of the Soil”
Annie and Pony have their work cut out for them when they need to bring in the crops.

“Street Smart”
Pony invests Annie’s savings in an obvious scam….

Our Take

For the first episode, Much of the humor relied heavily on a child being in charge of harvesting crops due to a series of contrived comedic mishaps on Pony’s end that resulted on both Annie’s parents being injured to a certain extent. Of course the escalation of how they almost profit from it, leads to some funny moments, However, Annie learns that her parent’s business isn’t always about the money…

As for the 2nd episode, Pony tries to comprehend the concept of deception and and mistrust due to blindly trusting people. Of course, this hilariously backfires on Annie’s end at least until some unexpected comedic twists rear their ugly head that almost help Pony see through the bullshit of certain people.

Overall, both episodes were fun and wacky yet continue the trend of Pony being the fun and chaotic character who drives the story. Some of the pacing was a bit too fast, but at least some of it was easier to follow than usual. Also, the 2nd episode was even funnier as it somewhat reference the “Nigerian Prince” scam without actually saying the name.
