English Dub Review: Odd Taxi “Trick or Treat” “Bless You”
Overview:
It’s business as usual for privately-owned taxi driver Odokawa as he drives a variety of passengers around the city. Sometimes weirdos pick fights with him in Shibuya on Halloween.
It’s business as usual for privately-owned taxi driver Odokawa as he drives a variety of passengers around the city. Come to think of it, he’s driven Goriki before.
Our Take:
Everything is starting to become interconnected. One way or another I have a feeling all of these characters are connected to each other in one way or another. More of an indirect connection through Odokawa I’m sure kind of like a six degrees of Kevin Bacon type of situation. What I do know is that Odd Taxi definitely deserved to be nominated for anime of the year and maybe should of even one but I will wait for the ending and season review to stress that point.
Our parents always told us that our lies would eventually come back to haunt us. That came true for Kakihana, by posing to be rich he set himself up to be scammed for money. This episode also introduced the previously mentioned but never before seen Yano. I haven’t nailed down their voice actor yet but they did a good job with his certain speaking quirk. Yano only speaks in raps so I was wondering how that would translate in the dub. Well, they did a great job and hopefully, I can find out who voices them soon.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
