“Out of Shape”

Our Take

For the first episode, much of the story is spent on Angus trying to make one dog like him named “Jelly” due to a past misunderstanding that made the dog perceive him as such a piece of shit. Though there are comedic moments to be had in its proceedings such as the fact a pug so small has the ferocity of a wild animal which is a huge contrast to the other dogs who love Angus.

As for the 2nd episode, it somewhat answered the question of what would happen if a Cloud person like Parker got lazy and what having an immobile life can do to its cloud body. Of course, they go to Lily for help in this situation which involves various forms of “matter” in order to fix Parker, however, there’s an unexpected twist at the end that had an excellent comedic payoff.

Overall, both episodes had some subtle lessons behind all the show’s typical wackiness. While the 2nd story was mostly spent on fixing Parker as Lily as the others had to figure out how to restore him to his normal leading to a lesson about acceptance. I think I liked the first one a bit more as it conveyed a subtle lesson that throughout life you’re going to make enemies no matter how well-intentioned you are, it’s both a harsh reality and a grey area that not everyone is going to be your friend, and sometimes that’s ok because, at the end of the day, there’s something wrong with them, not you.
