Our Take

The first episode introduces a new character in the form of Ariel. An adventurous Air-pirate accidentally crashes her air balloon into Angus’s ship. But in order to get it running again, they need to go to a specific part of the forest that contains the source of its fuel. Much of its humor was heavily built around Angus feeling slightly jealous of Ariel wanting Parker to fawn over him and his accomplishments, but at the end of the day, sometimes you need to put your feelings aside to focus on what’s important…

As for the 2nd episode, we hilariously learn from a Tattoo on Angus’s arm that he has 3 fears with one of them being the highlight of this episode. There is an interesting build-up towards the proceedings that progressively gets weirder and funnier, especially with what unexpectedly happens near the end that sort of ends on a wholesome note.

Overall, both episodes were very Angus-focused and show the different sides of him. Even if they’re negative aspects that need to be fixed. But regardless, flawed and imperfect characters are what help audiences connect with your show. Because at the end of the day Angus is still only human.
