English Dub Review: The Faraway Paladin “The Helmet of Will”

Overview:

On the verge of death, Will swears an oath to Gracefeel and rises to challenge Stagnate again. However, Stagnate tricks Will into fighting his shadow while he goes off to attack Blood and Mary. When he realizes what’s going on, Will rushes back to the Temple and arrives just as Stagnate comes within reach of the two wounded undead.

Our Take:

This feels like just a prologue to some epic story and I really can’t wait to see where this goes from here. Will had to do a lot of growing up this episode and I think we are finally going to get to see his journey out into the world of the living. Gus gave him quite a bit of money.

The animation was pretty good for the fight scene. It wasn’t great but not bad either, which is something I am more than okay with because the draw of this show is definitely its worldbuilding. The story here is so good and interesting and I feel like it’s just getting started.

Will is a great character that I can’t wait to see grow even more. Make sure you stay after the credits because there is a scene that fleshes out Mary and Blood’s backstory and believe me when I say it’s amazing. You won’t regret sticking around for it.

There was a second season of The Faraway Paladin announced recently and I think that is fantastic. This show has been a treat to watch and I will definitely want more. I am even considering reading the light novels when they come here.
