English Dub Review: Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan “Awkward Smile”
Overview:
A conversation between Uramichi and Edei leads Usahara and Kumatani to recall their college days where they shared a dorm room with Uramichi.
Our Take:
Usahara overhears a conversation and thinks it means Uramichi is leaving the show. I am not one for misunderstandings and minor spoiler alert but we won’t know if it is a misunderstanding until the last episode. I’m okay with this misunderstanding because it gave them an excuse to show us, everyone, in their college days.
I hope the flashback stuff will continue next episode because I would like to see how Uramichi’s attitude towards everyone changed. Iketeru constantly getting lost and confused was absolutely hilarious and in line with his future self. Utano put out a lot of music during this time too bad it never went anywhere for her. Sometimes with episodes like this, I think it’s kind of weird how close everyone was without knowing it. Sometimes it rubs me the wrong way like how coincidental can things get? But in this case it kind of makes sense, they all ran in somewhat similar circles.
The next episode is going to be really interesting with finding out what Uramichi is talking about. My money is on Uramichi just moving to a different house or something. But I could be wrong, what I do know is that I am going to miss this show once it’s gone.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
