English Dub Review: My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X “Love for the Younger Brothers Poured Forth…”

Overview

The day after the resolution of Catarina Claes’s kidnapping, the first prince, Jeffrey Stuart, passionately speaks of his love for his younger brothers to his fiancée, Susanna Randall. At the same time, Geordo and Alan are in the student council office, reminiscing about their childhood days with their older brothers…

Our Take

Looks like we finally get an in-depth look at Geordo’s past. I’m kinda ok with this because it’s being about time for Geordo to receive some character depth so, in that regard, I really enjoyed watching how he used to be as a kid and how much he changed after meeting Catarina. He actually seemed like a lonely person back then yet was is able to take his responsibility seriously.

In response to the last episode’s twist regarding a “Kiss” Catarina supposedly got. I was at first, annoyed they were going to drag this out, even more, when they started with Catrina playing the whole thing off as a dream, but was pleasantly surprised when they tore that excuse away in the same episode. I don’t mind some suspense and build-up for relationships but shit like this can only go so far and stretch contrivances so much before it becomes more infamously annoying than Black Clover’s unrequited romances. And I give the dude balls for actually being more honest and direct with her than anyone else has been within the show.

Overall, If there’s anything I can take out of this besides the hope that Catarina actually knows what the term “reciprocation” means, the Stuart brothers’ backstory was really nice and it all ended pretty wholesomely thanks to Catarina. It was both funny, but also informative in places. As for Jeffery, I guess I judged him too early. In the end, it seems he wasn’t the mastermind behind Catarina’s kidnapping, and seeing him being so supportive of his brothers when they were kids was just too sweet. The kidnapping case may have been resolved in its own unique way, but that makes Catarina a more vulnerable target for the entire group of princes and princesses to be overprotective of her so who knows what will happen next…
