FX Networks is readying the season 12 premiere of Archer happening August 25th, but it sounds like network head John Landgraf is reaffirming his commitment to getting more adult animation for it’s barren networks. For starters, it sounds like he wants a 13th season, though he notes in a new interview with Deadline that the producers are trying to figure out how to move the franchise forward in the wake of the passing of the Emmy-nominated Jessica Walter. While the network is excited about the upcoming season of Archer, the network notes that it is not actively producing any spin-offs at the moment, but are open to them.

The year 2022 will be a big deal for FX Networks as we’ll get to see the brand-new series Little DemonThe new series features father-daughter duo Danny and Lucy DeVito along with Aubrey Plaza. Furthermore, Landgraf notes that the network has a number of series in development right now, however, did not comment on whether or not these are shorts series for the live-action/animated hybrid Cake, or if these will be standalone animated series.

It’s worth noting that ever since FXX has featured reruns of Family Guy and The Simpsons, the network’s viewership has increased tremendously, however, it’s somewhat jarring to see FXX typically programming reruns of Family Guy opposite new episodes of Family Guy on FOX. 20th Television Animation series will be removed from all non-Disney affiliated networks by Fall 2021 so the likes of King of the Hill, Futurama, The Cleveland Show, and more could also be making their way over to FXX for what’s essentially round-the-clock Animation Domination.
