English Dub Review: So I’m a Spider, So What? “I guess this is a class reunion?”

Overview

Between saving Sophia and helping people out, the Spider-Lady ends up being worshipped as a Divine Beast. As embarrassing as that is, it’s not too bad.

Meanwhile, Shun’s group arrives at the elf village and encounters someone they thought was long gone. As preparations for war are underway, Shun’s party is met with suspicion, even Filimøs, who is an elf herself. But then, Shun is reunited with some old friends…

Our Take

The plot with the elves is somewhat interesting which is a nice development for the human side. All the reincarnations have been reunited. Potimas is alive as well and he went to meet the mythical beast. I still think the teacher is trustworthy but she’s definitely keeping way too many secrets. Hopefully, there’s a legit reason for this.

Aside from a fight with her Spider-Queen mother, Spider-Lady is being treated like a goddess. But since she’s a loner she has never experienced something like this before which is played for laughs. In terms of status, she’s still far below Demon Lord, but even the Demon Lord couldn’t get rid of Spider-Lady. they’re in a stalemate. It also makes you wonder why the mysterious Administrator D didn’t give Spider-Lady the skill to understand human language, or maybe she will when she evolved in the future.

While it was amazing to see Spider-Lady being given a huge power boost, the human side within the proceedings of this episode was starting to drag a bit. I’ll admit that the reunion was great, but whatever trust that Schlain and his crew had for Filmo, seems to have become strained. But with war looming on the village trust is something they will all need…
