English Dub Review: The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter “Let’s Go to the Hot Springs”
Overview
The day for the Hero Academy tradition, their trip to the hot springs, has finally arrived! The monsters they face on the way to the hot springs are tough, but the boys in the class who can’t control their lust are a far bigger threat. What should Noir do to protect Emma and the other girls?
Our Take
In the tradition of most “Harem” anime or anime that predominantly has a highly attractive female ratio, We get either a Beach Resort episode or a Hot Springs episode and while anime that have hot springs moments end up with the protagonist in an awkward predicament where they’re being labeled and misunderstood as peeping tom for the sake of their asses being kicked because Japan thinks female on male abuse is funny (I’m looking at you Prison School).
This episode, however, is possibly the first time I’ve seen the protagonist stand his ground and defend girls from perverted men. I wish that many anime with hot springs-themed episodes at the very least had moments like this instead of frequently using and predictably abusing “Accidental Pervert” tropes all the time.
The show continuously shines when it’s just stupid fun. Noir is a true gentleman, and without saying too much, His good intentions rewarded him in hilariously unimaginable ways…
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
