Review: Spongebob Shorts “Wet Painters: Puppet Edition!”
Overview
The Pineapple Playhouse presents “Wet Painters” in real life; SpongeBob and Patrick are tasked to paint the inside of Mr. Krabs’ house.
Our Take
Much like the “previous episode“, this is a recreation in puppet form of another preexisting Spongebob episode and it’s further emphasized with the top left corner this time showing the actual animated episode just to do a side-by-side comparison.
The live-action segments also try to cleverly replicate other narrative details such as the paint-splashing scene without using actual paint which I do commend it for.
Overall another passable recreation of a classic Spongebob episode. It makes you wonder why they’re even doing this, but hopefully, Nickelodeon will realize that if they wanted to they’d do something completely original with these puppets.
I hope this turns out to be another Gravity Falls-type show with an overarching storyline.
