Robert Rodriguez Teases “From Dusk Till Dawn” Animated Series

In a new interview with SFX Magazine, Robert Rodrigues has noted that an animated series adaptation of his and Quentin Tarantino’s From Dusk Till Dawn is in development for an animated series.

For those that don’t know, From Dusk Till Dawn was a live-action movie and a TV series on Robert’s now dead El Rey Network. The movie revolved a pair of American criminal brothers ( George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino) who take a family as hostages ( Harvey Keitel and Juliette Lewis) in order to cross into Mexico, but ultimately find themselves trapped in a saloon frequented by vampires.

After the feature-length, two direct-to-DVD prequels followed along with a critically acclaimed live-action series that went for three seasons.

Our Take

With the series having been an international Netflix original, the largest streaming service in the world that just announced 200 million subscribers seems like a likely destination should there be an animated series. Vampires are just the kind of supernatural fare that should assuages those waiting for new seasons of Castlevania.
