English Dub Review: Noblesse “A Friend’s Hand/Fight for…”

Overview

Seira realizes Regis is in danger and rushes to help him, while Raizel and Frankenstein suspect that Tashiro and Kase might also be in trouble as well, so they follow Seira. Meanwhile, M-21 comes up with a plan to potentially sacrifice himself to save everyone. Finally, Regis confronts the danger by his side, but they’re up against an opponent from the Union’s state-of-the-art special forces team who isn’t going down easily…

Our Take

Finally, things are really taking off in places, as M-21 continues to be the focus character, which is nice, but I would like to see some other characters more, besides Regis, who also got a good amount of screen-time this week. For starters, While I’m glad the pacing thus far hasn’t zoomed through content, it seemed slow and dragged out this episode. I feel like they could’ve cut some of the M-21/Regis internal monologue/conflict and it still would’ve had the same result.

The Takio/Frankenstein battle also surprised me. I hope Takio didn’t get any more harm to fighting Franken. I knew he would do an all-out attack. It cause so much shame knowing his intentions kinda poured among the others. As for Regis, well, his last attack indeed a fine thing before he got a punishment. I was also super impressed by Seira; who delivered in his moment to shine with a badass fight. Regis was pretty awesome too with the way he effortlessly took down Shark, but he definitely met his match with Crans. I don’t think anyone but Rai will be capable of stopping him!

As a whole, the fight scenes were decent, and while the animation was passable, it lacked the sound composition to back it up. For example, all the attacks just felt so weak and should’ve sounded more impactful with each strike. Finally, the pacing was oddly slow given how much unnecessary focus they put on the internal conflict between M-21 and Regis and part of me wanted to see Raizel in action but at least the post-credit scene more than made up for it.
