“Big Mouth” Finds It’s New ‘Missy’

Forced change is one thing, but when it can be used to actually elevate the show, now we’re talking the good sauce. That sounds like what’s going to happen on the penultimate episode of Big Mouth season four because according to Variety the show has found it’s replacement for Jenny Slate in the form of Ayo Edebiri. Turns out, the producers didn’t have to go far because Ayo is a writer for Big Mouth’s previously ordered fifth season and the episode in which she’ll be introduced seems to indicate that Missy’s voice change will be explained as ‘Missy’ matures from a child to that of a young adult, a truly fantastic idea.

Jenny Slate’s dialogue for Big Mouth season four was pretty much a wrap and she will still be the primary voice ‘Missy’ for the first crop of episodes, but season four will be the final time we hear Jenny starring in the role as she has opted to step down citing her lack of comfort of voicing a biracial role.
