Movie News: Princess Mononoke English Dub Gets Run In Theaters ; Plymptoons ; Goldblum To Star “They Shot The Piano Player”

Happening on November 17th and the 20th will be the English dub re-release of Princess Mononoke from the legendary Studio Ghibli, creators of Spirited Away, and Academy Award®-winning director Hayao Miyazaki.

Inflicted with a deadly curse, the young warrior Ashitaka heads west in search of a cure. There, he stumbles into a bitter conflict between Lady Eboshi, the proud people of Iron Town, and the enigmatic Princess Mononoke, a young girl raised by wolves, who will stop at nothing to prevent the humans from destroying her home and the forest spirits and animal gods who live there. Featuring the voice talents of Gillian Anderson, Billy Crudup, Claire Danes, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Billy Bob Thornton.

Jeff Goldblum will voice a New York music journalist who investigates the disappearance of young Brazilian piano virtuoso Tenorio JR in a new feature-length They Shot The Piano Player

In it, we learn about the early Latino musical movement Bossa Nova before freedom of expression and music pretty much stopped any chance of further exploration during the sixties. The musical contributions will come from João Gilberto, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Vinicius de Moraes, and Paulo Moura and the film is coming from Fernando Trueba and Javier Mariscal.
