We Pick Five Episodes of Harvey Birdman That Are Still Relevant Today

3) Season 2, Episode 6: “Back to the Present”

What this was about:
The Jetsons come back from the future due to the effects of climate change (then called global warming) messing with their lives and decide to sue the people of 2004 for letting the planet get this bad. But because the Jetsons themselves are from an outdated version of the future, they don’t really handle the current time well. What follows is a lot of repeating of what was then pretty topical discussion about the increasingly more apparent effects of climate change, leading to a pretty hasty wrap up by the defense, a villain named Freezoid, making it snow outside to close the matter.

How it relates now:
And boy did that not age well…or age super well, because only four years ago in 2015, Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe brought a snow ball to the Senate floor just to show that all the data about the previous year being the hottest ever was just pure hogwash! Really though, the fact that this issue is not only still around but even more prevalent and with more people putting their heads in the sand only shows how little we’ve learned or progressed. We’ve had multiple episodes of countless shows covering this topic before and it’s only going to become a bigger issue as time goes on.
