“Final Space” To Continue Turner Nets Trend Of Double Premieres For Toons
And apparently, it has been working.
When TBS premiered Tarantula last year, they did it with two new episodes a week for the duration of the series. Adult Swim is currently doing the same with Hot Streets and that looks to continue with Mr. Pickles at the end of this month. Cartoon Network for MONTHS did dual premiere episodes on Fridays for shows like Gumball and We Bare Bears. And now, Final Space will premiere on February 26th with TWO new episodes…the point?
Turner Networks, when premiering brand-new animation, has been usually doing so with double episode premieres across their big networks. There have been exceptions, Robot Chicken and the upcoming American Dad appear to be the exceptions to the dual premiere strategies, but other than that, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and TBS have been rather consistent with premiering new animation in doubles with sometimes a sprinkle of, in the case of Apollo Gauntlet and Tarantula, uploading the entirety of a season at once on their respected apps.
Mr. Pickles Season Three premieres at Midnight ET/PT, on February 25th with two brand-new episodes on Adult Swim followed closely by two brand-new episodes of Final Space on TBS @ 1030 pm ET/PT, after an all-new American Dad.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
