Review: Blitz TV’s Real Hollywood Stories Episodes 7-9

Tales of debauchery and hilariousness ensues.

Episode 7: Major Wreck

Turns out, Dan Bilzerian’s not the only silly crazy dude to come out of the military, he’s had friends who were just as nuts. Like in this tale, Dan recounts working at the military candy store with a buddy and then both of them playing Mad Max: Fury Road during a simple equipment retrieval exercise.

8/10

Episode 8: Bodybuilder: Cuckhold

Dan gets into a social feud with the owner of a bodybuilding website, but Dan gets him back.

Score

7.5/10

Episode 9: Blitz Brothers

I wish my brother was cool enough to bring me to the Bahamas. That’s exactly what happens with Dan and his bro, and it ends up like every other nuts story Dan’s told, usually with him getting super sick and a bunch of dudes swapping chicks. It’s one of those stories you listen to and think, “my life SUCKS”.

Score

9/10

Episode 9: Werthington Chronicles

Yes, there are two episode nines. Why? I don’t know, just doing my job. In any event, Dan’s military pal tries crack and spends his life savings in the process. It’s possible this guy lives on Skid Row.

8/10

Our Take

Despite most of Blitz’s Real Hollywood Stories not really being set in Hollywood, and even more despite the fact that Dan’s getting sick in a lot of these episodes, it might be one of the riskiest shows in the animated docu-series comedy genre. Nigel Tierney’s production efforts are just as strong as anyone in the biz right now, helping produce a series that looks like Archer but fucks like Superjail.
