Following Allegations, Russell Simmons Departs Companies Including All Def Digital
What’s gonna happen now?
All Def Digital is one of the few, if not only, premium Youtube outlets left that allow black animation producers to really have a voice. Over the years, the digital arm of Def Jam has featured original animated content like Counterfit, Jenkins & Jones, and a whole bunch more.
Unfortunately, it looks like sexual assault and harassment claims in Hollywood looks to potentially claim another content victim. After reports of Russell Simmons’ sexual misconduct have come to light, the hip-hop mogul has officially stepped down as the CEO for all of his companies, which includes All Def Digital.
A replacement CEO has not been announced at the time of this writing, but this is just the latest in a string of incidents in which Hollywood ego has potentially cost good people their jobs and may eventually see the demise of one of the few black entertainment strongholds left on Youtube.
Just cancel this bird already. The chicken is beyond cooked. It's burnt to a crisp.
