We showed you guys all of the TBS sneak peeks from Comic Con over a week ago for all of the upcoming animated comedies coming in the 2017-2018 season. Now let’s dig into the trailers and try and uncover plot points, character details, and a whole lot more. Today, we look at the sneak peek that was posted on a couple of weeks ago for Final Space, let’s tear it apart, and show you it’s insides.
For those that don’t know, Final Space follows an astronaut named Gary and his little green alien pal Mooncake who traverse through the treacheries of outer space on crazy ass adventures.
For those expecting a Rick and Morty or Futurama clone, you’re either gonna be delighted or annoyed because Final Space is like comparing Alien to Star Wars. Just going by the stellar musical composition alone, this thing feels more like a Chris Nolan epic with strands of comedy with the “gravity” of being in the setting of space being one of the chief perils.
Not only is Final Space coming to TBS, but a VR special is currently in the works from Olan Rogers. Olan is the creator and voice of Gary and Mooncake on Final Space and just got done posting a second animated series pilot with New Form called The Lion’s Blaze.
Not only is Olan part of the series, but the trailer debuted a list of other actors that will be part of Final Space. Fred Armisen (“KVM”), Tom Kenny (“HUE”), David Tennant (“Lord Commander”), Gina Torres (“Quinn”), Ron Perlman (“Gary’s Dad”) and a slew of others have joined the series and we’re still getting drips as to whom will voice who in the series.
