English Dub Review: Fuuka “Band”
This show is getting REALLY good
Spoilers Below
This week’s episode of Fuuka sees the fall-out from Fuuka leaving the band with everyone going their separate ways in what appears to be a break-up. Tama actually makes a move on Yu only to be turned down, but the event inspires Yu to write and produce a song in one night. Yu makes copies of his demo, gives it to each of the five original members of Fallen Moon, but Fuuka is trying her best to convince herself not to go back despite the fact that Fallen Moon has returned to jamming to keep up their chops.
Our Take
Pretty compelling show, and it’s now officially my favorite English dub adaptation on Funimation for the Winter. With making the stark diversion from the manga, the producers of the anime setup a number of really interesting questions as to which way this thing could go which I think is way more exciting than already knowing the road you’re on. With the finale next week, it will be interesting to see how this one pans out, but I’m hoping Diomedea starts the process of putting together a second season for Funimation to adapt.
SCORE
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
