Mondo Media Picks Up New Seasons Of “Cat Agent” and “Deep Space 69”

And both will premiere within the year!

Mondo Media announced last night that they are officially greenlighting new seasons of Deep Space 69 and Cat Agent. The former was probably expected due to the fact that Deep Space 69 is one of Mondo’s biggest franchises whereas Cat Agent was a bit of a nice surprise. Eight episodes each are being produced to premiere on Mondo Media/VRV sometime in mid-2017. Even crazier, episodes for both shows are going from shorts to 11-minutes in length.

Cat Agent was created by Emmy Award-winning director Kent Osborne — who was head writer of Adventure Time and writer and storyboard director for SpongeBob SquarePants. Cat Agent views the weird, wild world of celebrity and fame through the fluffy feline eyes of Cat Agent, a cat who’s an agent representing the cats who belong to some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Osborne also provides the voice of Cat Agent in the series.

Deep Space 69, which will enter its fourth season, is the creation of Daniel Katz (Xemoland, Beer Cops) and features the voice of Dan Gordon as Jay, an intergalactic pilot who travels the galaxy with his koala first mate Hamilton (Jeff LaPensee) in search of sex, sexual exploits and sexual conquests. The first three seasons of Deep Space 69, originally available on YouTube, have attracted more than 50 million views.

Our Take

The challenge for both series’ will be to see if producers for both shows can craft good and juicy plots to go along with all of the silliness that each series is known for…especially Deep Space 69 which is as close as to South Park as Mondo has got in terms of quality. Cat Agent could be really good, too, and along with Apollo Gauntlet which is rumored to be picked up to series by Adult Swim, Cat Agent proves the Rugburn experiment between 6 Point Harness (now known as Mondo) and Titmouse worked like a charm.
