English Dub Review: Fuuka “Blown Up!”
A bit over the top effort that is disguised as dramatic.

This week’s episode sees Fallen Moon perform their first concert, but it’s shrouded in controversy because someone leaked a picture of Yuu and pop star Hinashi. Hinashi goes on TV and professes her love for Yuu and that all of her songs were written for him. When the male fan base of Hinashi’s finds out about this, they get PISSED and blow up Yuu’s Twitter feed threatening to ruin the concert. At first, Yuu is terrified to perform, and really most of the band has butterflies, but the end of the episode sees the band more united than ever just before they hit the stage.
Our Take
A LOT of drama this week, and a lot of feel-good moments which gears up to a rather cliff-hanging finish that kinda felt like the rug was taken out from under me in the last minute. I also love how bizarre the Twitter-verse is in this show. Let’s put it this way, in real life, if a girl went on TV and said she wrote a bunch of songs for a dude, she’d at best be a joke for SNL. No chance is there a rabid fan base willing to kill over the celebrities’ feelings, that’s just ridiculous. Not saying there aren’t some crazy stalkers out there, but the veracity in which Hinashi’s fan base reacts is a bit over the top.

Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
