English Dub Review: Interviews with Monster Girls “Dullahan-chan Wants to be Coddled”

Can you imagine being a dude and having to put up with this lady’s shit all day?

Spoilers Below

Tetsuo interviews Kyoko and learns all about what it’s like being the resident dullahan. Turns out, it isn’t easy and isn’t even quite sure how to approach guys she likes for dates. The guy she likes at the moment? Tetsuo. Apparently, she’s a huge fan of his hugs even if it is against school policy to have a teacher/student relationship. Still though, that doesn’t stop Tetsuo and Kyoko from doing a practice date with Hikari watching over the dullahan’s body.Kyoko warns that Yuki acts weird and maybe should get a talkin’ to, but other than Hikari messing with Kyoko’s body, the date is rather uneventful, though it does inspire the teacher to get permission from the principal to allow Kyoko to wear a back pack which would allow her to carry both her school things and her head more easily.

Our Take

Kyoko really is a bizarre character, but that’s not the worst of it. This series really has no direction as of right now. Like, there’s no point to anything that’s going on. I mean yea, we expand a bit on social issues of being a demi, but Tetsuo is a biologist, not a psychiatrist, so why is he putting up with all this bullshit? Moreover, why would you go on a date if you knew you had to carry someone’s head around and what was even the point of Kyoko leaving her head at home? Would her future husband have to deal with that shit on a daily basis? That’s ridiculous.

I did think Hikari messing with Kyoko’s body the entire date was rather comical, but other than that, there’s like no point to any of this show thus far.
