English Dub Review: Fuuka “Live”

You kids ready for the practice jam?

Spoilers Below

Akitsuki and Yu get into a big standoff after the events of the prior episode which saw our protagonist mingle with Tama. Fortunately, the two decide to bury the hatchet after members of the band, “The Hedgehogs” show up to jam. Pretty much everyone except for Nico and Tama are accounted for in the jam session, and it goes really, really well. But, questions still linger as to what exactly the type of relationship we’re gonna get from Akitsuki and Yu moving forward.

Our Take

I didn’t like how the result of “Triangle” came to be but gimme more of Fuuka getting ready to launch “Blue Wells” and I’m all set. As mentioned, the relationship aspect is still very confusing, and I’m not entirely sure Tama is completely out of the picture, but I felt like we reached an important milestone in series that will hopefully give us more fruits down the line.

By the way, Yuu is almost useless in this show. Like, he has no business being in a band as a bass player because the friggin’ kid doesn’t know how to place bass. Furthermore, starting bands 101 says you don’t shit where you eat, so if Yuu is gonna make a play at Fuuka, we better be ready for some disappointment because that’s what happens in EVERY band.
