The Simpsons won’t be coming back until February 12th @ 8/7c thanks to the Super Bowl and the Miss Universe pageant, but FOX has officially leaked the synopsis ahead of the airdate.

The episode is entitled “Fatzcarraldo” and in it, when all the fast food restaurants in Springfield become healthy, Homer turns to the last bastion of greasy food for comfort — and digs up some childhood memories along the way. Meanwhile, Lisa must find a good news story when the future of her school radio station is in jeopardy.

In related news, Paste Magazine has a first-look at the Bongo Comics FCBD ’17 release and you can see it here.  The synopsis reads:

Get in line for the foremost Free Comic Book Day four-color giveaway of the year! When Bart injures his back and has to use a rolling backpack, he turns weakness into strength as the “Leader of the Backpack Pack.” Then, Homer and Bart pull an all-nighter and put themselves on high alert to prevent a potential home invasion. Rod and Todd Flanders get separated from Ned Flanders in downtown Springfield and find themselves on an odyssey fraught with many mostly imagined dangers. All that and much, much more, and it’s all free!

Last but not least, Variety is reporting that people behind The Simpsons: Tapped Out mobile game are being folded into the FOXNext initiative which is the media empire’s foray into virtual and augmented reality. That said, I think the article is referring to more marketing folks and not actually people who produced the game because that is, and continues to be, another media giant…Electronic Arts.

As of now, no new VR/AR projects for The Simpsons have been announced, however, you may recall the 600th episode where Google and 20th Century FOX teamed up to provide a bit of a VR experience with Google cardboard.

This move falls in line with recent moves that have also been going on by Warner Bros. Digital Entertainment who also recently started to consolidate to provide more focus.
