“Nerdland” to get December Theatrical Release**Updated with Poster
Christmas is set to get a lot more-nerdy.
Coming this December from Samual Goldwyn Films will be the Timouse-produced R-rated animated film entitled Nerdland.
The film follows an aspiring actor played by Paul Rudd and his writer pal Patton Oswalt on a quest to get famous in LA within 24-hours because that’s what a mid-life crisis looks like when you’re 30. Other voice talents include Hannibal Buress, Reid Scott, Mike Judge, Riki Lindhome, Kate Micucci, Laraine Newman and Paul Scheer.
With Sausage Party being crazy profitable, R-rated animated films could see a demand come next year. Not sure many will have excellent casts like this hanging around, but let’s see.
PS good to see Patton Oswalt back at it again after the recent passing of his wife.

I'm pretty skeptical that this is really "the first animated sitcom on X"; I'd have a hard time believing that someone else hasn't posted animated sitcom-esque shorts at some point.
