Blu-Ray Review: Rick and Morty Season Two

It may be wise just to watch this on Hulu.

This year’s Rick and Morty home release is actually pretty indicative of the entire second season. We went in with mass expectations given that Rick and Morty Season One was the best animated series of the year for 2013, and likewise, the Season One Blu-Ray was also the best home release of the 2014. Then Rick and Morty Season Two shows up and just doesn’t quite live up to the standards that the first season had. The same is true with the Rick and Morty Season Two Blu-Ray. While season one gave us the prelude to the show’s ensuing comic book series and featured guest commentaries from Al Jean, Matt Groening, and Robert Kirkman, Season Two features just the producers of Rick and Morty.

Still though watching Rick and Morty Season Two uncensored is a rather joyous occasion. So joyous in fact, I’m willing to skip over a cover that advertises a featurette only to get coverage of the show’s premiere party. Why we thought to advertise a party as a featurette, I’ll never know. I mean, have Starburns Industries SEEN ANY of the Robot Chicken home releases? When I think featurette, I think a behind-the-scenes production of a TV show…not coverage on a party. The producers may have waved the white flag on home releases…that’s the only way to explain it. But, “Rick and Morty Season Two uncensored” just SOUNDS good, doesn’t it? ”
