Shorts Review: RWBY Chibi Episode 2

How Funny was episode 2?

Compared to the previous episode, this was a 3 min and 10 second video. but surprisingly had more dialogue and humor than the first one and has slightly more skits. (Also in a recent podcast, The co-writer of RWBY, Kerry Shawcross has confirmed that “Chibi is non-canon” with the original series.)

“Cat Burglar”

Team RWBY Watches a news report on their TV about a “Cat Burglar on the prowl” and they all direct their attention to Blake.

She tries to establish her innocence while hilariously contradicting herself by stealing random shit even going as far as to say “This is Profiling!” 😛

And before leaving their dorm, This happens…

After stealing the TV Remote, she quickly leaves and the news updates saying that she’s on a “High Speed chase on a Yellow Motorcycle with a cartoonishly large amount of stolen goods” (The Chase happens entirely off camera of course.)

 

“Ice Skating”

Weiss casually goes ice skating…

Until it’s revealed that they were supposed to go swimming and she somehow froze the pool and decide not to invite her to the pool again.

I feel the joke would’ve been funnier if they were wearing bathing suits at least. Were the animators too lazy to design some for the other three?

 

“Jump Rope”

Blake throw’s her Gambol Shroud in it’s pistol form and Yang Catches the other end and they proceed to play “Jump-Rope” with Ruby” while singing her on version of “Jaune Be Nimble”

Jaune  overhears the song and he’s not amused while telling Blake to move her books off the floor. (implying that’s how he injured his leg.) 

 

“Yarn”

Yang offers Blake a ball of yarn given that she’s a Cat Faunus.

At first Blake is annoyed thinking that’s Yang perceives her to easily not pass up yarn given that she’s part cat.

Until this happens. 😛

“Blake Vs. Zwei”

In a Small Series of Gifs, Ruby & Yang’s Dog Zwei goes into a random room.

He begins to smell something and almost runs towards it…

Only to be called out of the room revealing Blake to be hiding.

I think this episode was better than the first one. 🙂
