Review: Family Guy – The New Adventures of Old Tom (S14Ep18)

Spoilers Below

Like many of us nowadays, we’d like to just leave a family member in a mall and lock the doors on them. Peter managed to be that person in this episode. Meanwhile, Brian tried to impress a girl by pretending to be rich.

When Peter realized he was left behind in the mall, he got a makeover so that when Lois eventually found him, he’d look good. He was also obsessed with a kid’s train ride that he compared to Amtrak’s disastrous record, but backed it up with actual events (for legal reasons). While the news reported the event at the mall, a new face appeared that made Bonnie’s index and middle fingers work overtime. His name – Dallas Portland. Tom Tucker now found himself in a fight for his anchor position and his life. More on this at ten…

In other news, Brian bought a men’s diamond ring that cost him $10K in order to get the salesgirl’s number. He planned on returning it when she wasn’t working since there was a 72 hour return policy. This backfired when Chris dared himself to eat it and it ended up becoming a manhole cover for his body. With only a minute left in the allotted return policy time, they slid under the closing gate to find themselves in a “crappy” situation.

This episode was structured very well overall. I seemed to have a little trouble with the random bear attacks, but it’s Family Guy and that stuff always seems to randomly pop up. The beginning and end was also tied together nicely with the mall patron calling out Lois’ name.

SCORE
8.5/10

Having a skate video and using “Sabotage” by Beastie Boys was gold. Solid episode. Would watch again.
