Review: Family Guy – Road to India (S14Ep20)

Goes down spicy, like curry!

Spoilers Below

In the Family Guy season finale, Brian falls in love with a tech support girl in India. He decides it would be best to travel half way across the world with Stewie to follow his heart and find her. Meanwhile, Joe finds solace in a game of regular Bingo and brings Peter in on the fun only to realize that he’s stealing all the Bingo glory.

Brian, being the hopeless romantic he is, finds himself consistently calling up a tech support hotline to talk to a woman named Padma. After declaring his love for her, he finds that she is about to marry a different man and calls it off because of Brian. Lo and behold, it isn’t for the reason he thinks, though. She called it off because she realized that he wasn’t the one for him, but neither was Brian.
On the other side of the world, Peter charmed his way into the Bingo world with his flashy attire as Joe sat watching helplessly. As the episode was closing, we got to witness everybody getting a red dot stamped on their forehead in an ill-attempted nod to the Indian culture.

I always enjoy Brian and Stewie’s adventures together. They have traveled through Germany and the space-time continuum together, but always find their way out unscathed. India shouldn’t and wasn’t any different. From the overcrowded buses to the Indian version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”, they tend to always find their way out of a mess; even if it doesn’t fit what they specifically want. Brian has had his heart broken more times than lightning strikes the Catatumbo Lake, yet he still perseveres and finds love elsewhere. He’s either dumb as a brick or a hopeless romantic. Traveling to India puts him in the latter category, however.

This season has been remarkably good. I look forward to next season and the undoubtedly many more to follow. If you or anyone you know has eaten chocolate covered ants, hit me up on Twitter @Capo_Sandwich and tell me what they taste like. I have no idea where to get them. I’m almost ready to just pour chocolate on some ant hills out of curiosity.
