Review: Counterfeit Cat “Go Viral; Catiquette”

Does this British import hold up?

Imagine if Garfield and a more sci-fi take on Jake from Adventure Time were to team up, and that’s what we get with Max and Gark. Max employs the laziness, and in the first two episodes, yearns for popularity. Gark is a cat-like being with magical powers that can cause harm if used too frequently. That last part is actually my favorite part of the show. In “Go Viral”, Gark’s powers manifest themselves into a cyst after too much use, and eventually into a giant ghost-like monstrosity. In “Catiquette”, it causes Gark to lose his brain! Pretty crazy stuff for a show geared towards a younger audience.

Overall, Counterfeit Cat doesn’t reinvent the wheel THAT much, but the aesthetic sets itself apart from the other Disney XD fair that should appeal to fans.
