BUBBLE CAN Review: The Stanley Dynamic “The Stanley Hypnotist”

The Stanley Dynamic returned last night with an all new episode and it sure was hypnotic! I’ve watched and reviewed many episodes of The Stanley Dynamic over the last year and I must say, this might be the most fun episode yet. So read on as we break down this episode and see if it truly was worth the watch!

In “The Stanley Hypnotist” Luke uses hypnotism on his friends and family, but things quickly get out of hand.

Hypnotism was always a fascinating concept. Digging your way into somebody’s psyche and manipulating their perception on reality, most often for a laugh. That was the case this week as Luke harnesses the power of hypnotism and gets everybody to do some pretty funny stuff, everything from getting people to act like teenagers to getting people to act like robots.

Hypnotism is another one of those episode formulas you’ll see in a ton of different shows. It’s a concept people can buy into easily and it garners a lot of laughs. It’s one of those neat ideas that will probably go on until the end of time. It seemed like the cast had a lot of fun this week stretching out of their traditional roles and doing something a little more zany. If The Stanley Dynamic could get anymore zany!

Lane and Doop were probably the MVPs of this episode with their portrayals of what teenagers are like. Absolutely hilarious. The Stanley Dynamic isn’t made for my demographic. I’m a man in my twenties with no children. It’s very obvious when you watch the show that is a family experience. But there are times when the show will hit me in the perfect way and give me a gut laugh. Last night’s episode was a perfect example of this.

Overall, this is one of the best experiences I’ve had with the show yet. I can imagine that the kids at home were laughing along with their parents as well. The jokes were at their strongest last night, so by extension so was the writing. The cast got to show a bit of their range and have some fun. Luke at this point has become seamless. I remember a year ago reviewing this show and one thing I always looked out for was whether or not I believed the cast’s interactions with Luke. I don’t look out for it anymore. He now just fits in naturally. Awesome episode. Perhaps my favorite so far, though I can’t promise it. I can’t quite give this a ten, but I’ll easily give it the strongest nine I’ve ever given out.
